Warranty on refurbished devices — 2 years

All refurbished iPhones, Samsung Galaxy devices and MacBooks bought from The Phone Shopper come with a standard 2-year warranty. That warranty covers manufacturing and technical faults in the screen, battery, camera, speakers, buttons or software. If something does not work as it should under normal use, we put it right at no cost to you.

The warranty does not cover cosmetic damage that occurs after purchase, water damage that occurs after delivery, or damage caused by drops, knocks or your own (dis)assembly. The statutory guarantee of conformity always continues to apply — our 2 years come on top of that and go beyond the legal minimum period for second-hand products.

Water resistance on refurbished devices: a refurbished device has been opened to test and replace components, which breaks the original factory seal. The manufacturer's IP rating (such as IP67 or IP68) therefore does not apply to our refurbished devices, and water resistance is not a property you may expect from a refurbished device. The manufacturer itself also excludes liquid damage from its warranty and states that water resistance decreases through normal use. An IP rating is moreover determined using clean, still fresh water; chlorinated pool water and sea water fall outside that and actually attack the seals. Avoid swimming, bathing, showering, saunas and submersion.

Warranty on repairs — 3 months to 1 year

How long the warranty on a repair runs depends on what we repair. Most repairs carry a 1-year warranty. A screen repair carries 3 months (In-Cell) to lifetime (iPhone Soft OLED), an original screen 1 year, an incell or budget screen 3 months, and mainboard and soldering work 3 months. A battery replacement carries 1 year: if maximum capacity drops below 80% within that year, or there is a manufacturing or fitting fault, we replace the battery free of charge. If you choose a Soft OLED screen for an iPhone screen repair, that screen is covered for life, for as long as you own the device. If the same fault returns within the term, we repair it again at no cost. Damage from drops, water or misuse falls outside the repair warranty; we do not reimburse repair or fitting costs incurred elsewhere. This is our own warranty, on top of your statutory rights. Those always apply: if something is wrong that is not caused by use or damage, we put it right free of charge.

Warranty on accessories — 2 years

Accessories come with a 2-year warranty. In the case of a justified claim, we repair or replace the product. It must be returned complete and undamaged, preferably in its original packaging. Damage caused by drops, impacts or improper use is not covered by the warranty.

Warranty on parts — 6 months

Individual parts come with a 6-month warranty. In the case of a justified claim, we repair or replace the part. It must be returned complete, undamaged and in its original packaging or box — so keep those safe. Damage caused by (dis)assembly, drops or improper use is not covered by the warranty.

We assess the fault free of charge and, if it is covered by the warranty, repair or replace the device or part at no extra cost. Alongside the warranty you have 30 days to change your mind about devices and accessories ordered online (individual parts: 14 days): if you are not happy, you can return it and get your money back.
