In 2026 the iPhone 14 is a smart way into a modern iPhone. These are the points that matter for this model: condition, battery, SIM version, storage and the choice between the 13, 14 and 15.

Apple released the iPhone 14 in September 2022, and in 2026 it is one of the most sensible ways to get a modern iPhone without paying for the latest one. Apple no longer sells it new, so refurbished is the logical route. You get a fast chip, a strong camera and years of software updates still to come. Here is what to check before you order a Refurbished iPhone 14.
The short version: the condition grade only describes how the phone looks; it always works 100%. Every iPhone 14 we sell has a battery health of at least 85%, a 2-year warranty that also covers the battery, and 30 days to change your mind. Watch the SIM version: European units have eSIM plus a SIM tray, US units are eSIM only.

We grade every phone as As good as new, Lightly used or Used. The grade is about looks only; in all three the phone works 100%. Right now we have the iPhone 14 in As good as new and Lightly used. As good as new is indistinguishable from new at arm's length. Every refurbished iPhone 14 from us has a battery health of at least 85%. You can check it under Settings > Battery > Battery Health. Keep in mind that a phone from 2022 has a few years behind it. On an iPhone this age, the battery has more often been replaced than on a newer model, and that is not necessarily a downside: a replacement battery is usually fresher than the original. If a part has been replaced, you can see it under Settings > General > About.
The iPhone only shows the cycle count in Settings from the iPhone 15 onwards, so on the 14 you go by the percentage. Apple designed this generation's battery to keep 80% of its capacity after 500 full charge cycles. If it does drop sharply during the warranty period, our 2-year warranty covers it. Apple released the iPhone 14 in two versions. Phones sold outside the United States have a nano-SIM tray as well as eSIM. The US model has no SIM tray and works with eSIM only. Chip, cameras and display are otherwise identical.
On the product page you choose the SIM version yourself, and every listing states clearly which one you get. Most phones in our stock are eSIM + physical SIM card. We currently have the iPhone 14 in stock with 128 GB. That is enough for messaging, calls and photos you keep in iCloud. If you shoot a lot of 4K video or want everything stored on the phone itself, 128 GB fills up faster. You cannot add storage later.

The iPhone 14 still has a Lightning port. If you already own Lightning cables, that is handy; if everything else you own charges over USB-C, it means one extra cable. Every refurbished iPhone 14 comes with a 2-year warranty, battery included, and 30 days to change your mind.

The iPhone 13 is cheaper and very close to the 14: same size, Lightning and a dual 12 MP camera. The 14 adds a larger main camera sensor, the Photonic Engine for better low-light photos, autofocus on the front camera and Crash Detection. If you mostly shoot in daylight and want to spend as little as possible, the 13 is a fine choice.
The iPhone 15 costs more and is a clear step up: USB-C, a 48 MP main camera, Dynamic Island and the A16 Bionic. If you want to leave Lightning behind or take a lot of photos, the 15 is worth the difference.
A good fit if: you want a modern iPhone with Face ID, a good camera and years of updates, but you do not need the newest model. You are moving up from an iPhone 11 or older, or switching from Android. Or you already own Lightning accessories and want to keep using them.
Not the right pick if: you want Apple Intelligence, a 120 Hz display, a 48 MP camera or USB-C. Look at the iPhone 15 or a Pro model instead.

According to Apple Support, the iPhone 14 runs iOS 26 and iOS 27. Apple does not announce an end date in advance, and security updates usually continue for a while after the last major iOS version. Apple Intelligence is not available on the 14.
Apple lists the UK and Ireland, along with the Netherlands, Belgium and several other European countries, among the places where the feature is available. The service was free for two years after activating an iPhone 14. On a phone from 2022 that period may have ended; check Apple Support for what currently applies to your phone. Crash Detection needs no subscription and can automatically call emergency services after a severe car crash if you do not respond.
