Which iPhone do I have? Find your model in 10 seconds
Settings, General, About shows the model name. If that fails, the A-number or your Apple ID helps. With a table of model numbers per iPhone.

For a repair quote, a case, a screen protector or a trade-in offer we need to know exactly which iPhone you have. "The black one with two cameras" is not enough: there are eight of those. Here is how to find out in ten seconds, even with a broken screen.
In short: Settings, General, About: the answer is next to Model Name. No working screen? Look at the model number (A-number) on the SIM tray or the back, or sign in at appleid.apple.com and look under Devices.
Method 1: via Settings (10 seconds)
Open Settings, tap General, then About. At the top is Model Name, for example iPhone 13 Pro. Below it is Model Number; tap it and it switches from a part code (for example MLVD3ZD/A) to the A-number (A2638). Storage capacity is listed here too, handy for a trade-in offer.
Method 2: the A-number on the device
From the iPhone 8 onwards the model number is no longer on the back but on the SIM tray: pull the tray out and read the small A-number on the inside. On older models (7 and earlier) it is at the bottom of the back. Look the number up in the table below.
| Model | Model number (Europe) | Year |
| iPhone 8 / 8 Plus | A1905 / A1897 | 2017 |
| iPhone X | A1901 | 2017 |
| iPhone XR | A2105 | 2018 |
| iPhone XS / XS Max | A2097 / A2101 | 2018 |
| iPhone 11 | A2221 | 2019 |
| iPhone 11 Pro / Pro Max | A2215 / A2218 | 2019 |
| iPhone SE (2020) | A2296 | 2020 |
| iPhone 12 mini / 12 | A2399 / A2403 | 2020 |
| iPhone 12 Pro / Pro Max | A2407 / A2411 | 2020 |
| iPhone 13 mini / 13 | A2628 / A2633 | 2021 |
| iPhone 13 Pro / Pro Max | A2638 / A2643 | 2021 |
| iPhone SE (2022) | A2783 | 2022 |
| iPhone 14 / 14 Plus | A2882 / A2886 | 2022 |
| iPhone 14 Pro / Pro Max | A2890 / A2894 | 2022 |
| iPhone 15 / 15 Plus | A3090 / A3094 | 2023 |
| iPhone 15 Pro / Pro Max | A3102 / A3106 | 2023 |
| iPhone 16 / 16 Plus | A3287 / A3290 | 2024 |
| iPhone 16 Pro / Pro Max | A3293 / A3296 | 2024 |
Devices from the United States or Asia carry a different A-number for the same model. If your number is not listed, use method 1 or 3, or send us a photo of the SIM tray.
Method 3: via your Apple ID (broken screen or lost device)
Sign in at appleid.apple.com on a computer or another device, or open Settings on an iPad, tap your name and scroll to the device list. Every iPhone tied to your account is listed there with its model name. This works even when the device is switched off.
Method 4: recognise it from the outside
- Home button below the screen: iPhone 8, 8 Plus or SE (2020/2022).
- Rounded sides, notch, two cameras diagonal: XS, XR (one camera) or 11.
- Flat sides, two cameras, Lightning: 12, 13 or 14. On the 13 and 14 the lenses sit diagonally, on the 12 one above the other.
- Flat sides, USB-C: 15 or newer. An extra button below the side button (Camera Control) means 16 series.
- Three cameras: a Pro model. Matte titanium frame: 15 Pro or 16 Pro; shiny stainless steel: 11 Pro through 14 Pro.
Why it matters
An iPhone 13 screen does not fit a 13 Pro, and a 12 case does not fit a 13 because of the camera. For and parts we work with the exact model, and for trade-ins the model together with storage and condition sets the price. Two minutes of checking saves a wrongly ordered part.
Frequently asked questions

How do I see how much storage my iPhone has?
Settings, General, About, the Capacity line. Or Settings, General, iPhone Storage for usage per app.
How do I see which iOS version is installed?
On the same About page under iOS Version. Also read how long your iPhone will keep getting updates.
