What is a refurbished Apple Watch?
A refurbished Apple Watch is a professionally reconditioned watch: tested, repaired where needed and cleaned, with all data from the previous owner wiped. You pay less than new and get a 2-year warranty with us, including the battery. With a second-hand Apple Watch, always check that Activation Lock (the previous owner's Apple ID) has been removed — with us that is done as standard, so you can pair the watch straight away.
Which Apple Watch suits you? SE, Series or Ultra
The Apple Watch SE is the entry point: all the basics — notifications, activity, heart rate, Apple Pay — at the sharpest price. The Apple Watch Series is the mid model with a larger always-on screen and extra health sensors such as ECG and blood-oxygen measurement (depending on the generation). The Apple Watch Ultra is the largest and toughest, with a titanium case, especially long battery life and features for outdoor sport and diving. For everyday use the SE or Series is more than enough; choose the Ultra if you do a lot of sport or are often on the move.
GPS or GPS + Cellular?
A GPS location model works on its own for time, activity and notifications as soon as your phone is nearby or on the same Wi-Fi — enough for most people and the cheapest option. A GPS + Cellular model has its own eSIM: with it you call, chat and stream music without your phone, for example while running. Cellular does require a plan from your provider that supports the watch. If in doubt, GPS is the sensible choice; only pick Cellular if you really want to use the watch independently of your phone.
Case size, band and compatibility
An Apple Watch comes in two case sizes; the larger one has a bigger screen and a little more battery. Bands are interchangeable within the same size group, so you can easily switch to another band. An Apple Watch only works with an iPhone (not with Android), and the newest watchOS versions require a more recent iPhone. On each model's product page you can see the case size and which iPhone you need as a minimum.
Battery and battery life
Every refurbished Apple Watch we sell has a tested battery; if it is worn, we replace it before the watch leaves us. An Apple Watch typically lasts a day per charge in normal use, the Ultra longer. The battery health should be more than sufficient on a healthy watch; if in doubt, you can check it yourself after purchase via Settings on the watch. Our 2-year warranty covers the battery too.
Refurbished, second-hand or new?
Second-hand means buying as-is: no checks, usually no warranty and the risk of an Activation Lock that was not removed. Refurbished means the watch was inspected, wiped and repaired where needed before it was sold. Compared with new you save money while holding the same watch. If you would rather have a sealed device, we also sell new Apple Watches with a 2-year warranty.

Frequently asked questions about buying a refurbished Apple Watch
Is Activation Lock removed on a refurbished Apple Watch?
Yes. Every device we sell is fully wiped and unlinked from the previous owner's Apple ID, so you can pair the watch with your own iPhone straight away. That is exactly the risk with a private second-hand purchase: a watch with an active Activation Lock is unusable.
Do I need an iPhone for an Apple Watch?
Yes. An Apple Watch only works with an iPhone, not with an Android phone. The newest watchOS versions also require a slightly more recent iPhone. Each model's product page states which iPhone you need as a minimum.
What is the difference between GPS and Cellular?
A GPS model needs your iPhone nearby to call and go online. A GPS + Cellular model has its own eSIM and can call, chat and stream music on its own without a phone, for example during sport. Cellular does require a plan from your provider that supports the Apple Watch.
How much warranty do I get on a refurbished Apple Watch?
Two years, on every device, including the battery. If something breaks in those two years through no fault of your own, we repair or replace it free of charge. You also have 30 days to change your mind: if the watch is not what you hoped, send it back and you get your money back.
Can I use a different band?
Yes. Apple Watch bands are interchangeable within the same size group, so you simply click a different band onto the case. When buying a separate band, check your watch's case size. You will find bands in our accessories.
