Samsung Galaxy S22 or Galaxy S21: which refurbished model to choose?
The Galaxy S22 and the Galaxy S21 are very similar: compact Android flagships with a sleek design. The difference lies mainly in the camera and the chipset. Below we put them side by side so you can make a well-informed choice.
Design and screen
Both phones have a 6.1 inch Full HD+ AMOLED screen with 120Hz for smooth scrolling. Size and resolution are practically identical. The Galaxy S22 is newer and has a slightly brighter screen, which is welcome outdoors in bright sunlight. Both are premium built, with glass front and back and an aluminium frame.
Performance
The Galaxy S22 runs on an Exynos 2200 or Snapdragon 8 Gen 1, the Galaxy S21 on an Exynos 2100 or Snapdragon 888. Both chipsets are more than enough for messaging, browsing and most games. The S22 is a bit more powerful, but for everyday use both devices still feel quick.
Camera
This is where the clearest difference sits. The Galaxy S22 has a 50 megapixel main camera, while the S21 has to make do with 12 megapixels. That means sharper detail and, above all, noticeably better low-light performance on the S22. For casual photos on social media the S21 still does a fine job.
Battery and updates
Battery life is comparable, good for a day of use. Because the S22 is a year newer, you can count on longer software and security updates than with the S21. Important if you want to use your device for years to come.

If you want the newer generation, a better camera and longer updates, go for the refurbished Galaxy S22. If you want to get in as cheaply as possible without giving up comfort, the refurbished Galaxy S21 is still an excellent buy at an attractive price.
