Galaxy S24 vs S23: the key differences
The Samsung Galaxy S24 and S23 are both compact flagship phones with a 6.1-inch AMOLED display and excellent cameras. The S24 mainly adds smart software features and a brighter screen, while the S23 offers a sharp price point when bought refurbished.
Screen
Both feature a stunning 120Hz AMOLED display. The S24 is significantly brighter (up to 2600 nits), making it much easier to read in direct sunlight. The bezels on the S24 are also slightly thinner.
Galaxy AI
The biggest software difference: the S24 introduces Galaxy AI, with features like live call translation, smart photo editing and text summarisation. The S23 misses out on a number of these features.
Updates
Samsung promises the S24 series up to seven years of Android and security updates. The S23 also receives long-term support, but the S24 will last the longest — great if you want to hold on to your phone for years to come.
Performance and battery
Both phones are blazing fast for everything you use them for day to day. The S24 features a slightly larger battery and a more efficient chip, giving it a marginal edge in battery life.
