A popular tip: placing your smartphone in a bowl of rice — The Phone Shopper does not recommend this, as it is simply not an effective solution.
Yes, it may absorb some moisture, but that tells you nothing about whether your phone will actually work afterwards.
Using rice is therefore entirely at your own risk.
Normally, The Phone Shopper would advise removing the battery immediately.
However, Apple has chosen not to include a removable battery in their devices,
which unfortunately makes this impossible. A quick professional cleaning is therefore the only real solution.
Cost of iPhone 6s water damage cleaning
The total cost of a water damage repair treatment is €25.
The process can take up to 24 hours: we first disassemble all components, clean them manually,
and then run an automated cleaning cycle for 12 to 20 hours.
The results are excellent; however, it is possible that certain short circuits may have caused a component to stop working properly.
In that case, we will always consult with you first regarding any additional costs required to get your device fully functional again.
These situations are the exception rather than the rule, as the water damage treatment typically restores the smartphone to full working order for no more than the €25 treatment fee.

Unfortunately, The Phone Shopper is unable to provide a warranty on the outcome of a water damage repair.
What we can say is that we have not yet received any complaints — however, on that basis alone, we cannot offer a formal warranty on water-damaged phones.
